Punjab Tourism and Culture Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday expressed grief over the untimely death of the famous Punjabi Young Singer Diljan, who died in a road accident near Jandiala last night.

In a message, Channi said that a huge void has been created in Punjabi music industry with the death of talented singer and no one can fill it. The Minister further said Diljan has given his voice for songs of the the Punjab Government’s upcoming Theme Park Project of at Sri Chamkaur Sahib.

Sharing his deepest condolences with Diljan’s family in this hour of grief, he said that loss caused by his untimely demise cannot be described in the words and prayed to Almighty to give strength to the family to bear this loss.

It is pertinent to mention here that Diljan was born on July 30, 1989 in Kartarpur, a small town of Jalandhar. He rose to fame by participating in one reality show in Punjabi music channel. Later, further rose to fame with Sur Kshetra, a show on national TV channel. He was announced as the runner up in the show.

His 10 musical albums and around 50 single track songs have been released so far. A few days back, his song about Sri Guru Ravidass Ji was very popular. Earlier, his song “Zindabad” about the farmers’ struggle had also become huge hit.
