-PORTAL BAGS PRESTIGIOUS SKOCH AWARD FOR BEING THE BEST E-GOVERNANCE PLATFORM

Chandigarh, June 23: The e-Labour Punjab, the flagship programme of the state government launched at the behest of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has bagged the prestigious SKOCH award for being the best e-Governance platform. 

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Punjab government said that this coveted award was given by the Chairman of SKOCH Group Sameer Kochhar to the Principal Secretary Labour Sanjay Kumar on Saturday in a simple but impressive ceremony at New Delhi.

It may be recalled that SKOCH Awards are given by SKOCH Group every year at National level after scrutiny from renowned experts and popular votes by citizens of India. There were more than 3200 projects from all over country vying with each other for awards under different categories during the year 2018. This year there was a close contest between Punjab and Andhra Pradesh in this category.

Notably, e-Labour Punjab @ https://pblabour.gov.in portal was adjudged the best because of its replicability in the entire country. The portal was launched by the Captain Amarinder Singh in November 2017. This portal has been developed by Department of Labour and National Informatics Centre (NIC) Punjab as an online paperless interaction platform with Government and Industries, Commercial Establishments and Workers.

Divulging the details of the project, Sanjay Kumar said that the portal has simplified several things by providing an easy front end despite a complicated back end. The portal is providing seamless workflow to applicant for delivery of services in an efficient and result oriented manner. This platform also provides facilities for opting for Self Certification and filing of Online Compliance report by Industries. This portal is also instrumental in getting the workers registered online and enable them to seek assistance directly under various government Labour Welfare Schemes, added Sanjay Kumar.
