-SUKHJINDER SINGH RANDHAWA ASSURES TO TAKE UP ISSUE WITH CHIEF MINISTER AFTER PROBING MATTER

Chandigarh: A delegation of the Congress party MLAs called on the Cooperation Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa here today on the issue of the loan waiver of the landless members of the agricultural societies. The delegation members demanded that the loan waiver is granted to those landless members of the agricultural societies who have availed the loans up to Rs. 25000. The minister assured the delegation that the matter would be thoroughly probed and would be taken up with the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh.

The delegation members during the meeting with the Cooperation Minister expressed thanks for the gesture by the Punjab Government headed by the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh for taking a historical decision of waiving off the loans up to Rs. 2 lakh pertaining to the small and marginal farmers. The delegation members demanded that the loans of those members of the agricultural societies who belong to the landless/SC/ST/BC category be waived off who have availed these up to the level of Rs. 25000.

Randhawa gave a very patient hearing to the delegation members and assured them that he would look into the matter from all aspects very minutely and take up the same with the Chief Minister for a positive solution.

The delegation included MLAs Mr. Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Mr. Navtej Singh Cheema, Mr. Lakhvir Singh Lakha, Mr. Gurpreet Singh GP, Mr. Harpratap Singh Ajnala, Mr. Sukhpal Singh Bhullar, Mr. Dalvir Singh Goldy, Mr. Harminder Singh Gill, Mr. Barinderjit Singh Pahra, Mr. Dharamvir Agnihotri, Ex-MLA Mr. Joginder Singh Jindu, Chairman of the Cooperative Cell of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Mr. Bhupinder Singh and the President of the District Congress Committee Amritsar (Rural) Mr. Bhagwant Pal Singh Sachar.
