Brahm Mohindra, Health and Family Welfare Minister, who is camping at Amritsar from the day of Amritsar Rail Tragedy, visited the Private Hospitals to enquire about the health of the wounded persons, who are under treatment in Private Hospitals. Mr. Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria , Revenue Minister was also accompanying the Health Minister.

Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that the Health Minister also took reports from the doctors who are operating upon the injured. He expressed satisfaction that the patients are being provided the best available treatment and they are recuperating fast from their wounds. Brahm Mohindra also talked to the patients and asked them not to pay a single penny to the private hospitals for their treatment as the whole expenditure of their treatment is being borne by the State Government. Doctors told the Minister that most of the patients would be discharged soon as their wounds are heeling at fast pace.

Brahm Mohindra said that besides providing the free treatment to the injured in private as well as government hospital, team of the state government is also visiting their homes to assess their social and economic conditions. He said that on the basis of this survey, the rehabilitation of the families of the victims would be ensured so as to bring these families back on track. He said that the compensation amount is being disbursed to all the legal heirs of the victims whose identity has been confirmed by the administration.

Health Minister also expressed satisfaction over the medical care being provided to the victims by the teams of Health Department at the crucial time. He said the doctors of the Health Department showed exemplary professional approach and they provide the best medical care to the wounded while working day and night. Mr. Kamaldeep Singh Sanga was also accompanying the Health Minister during this visit.
