Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi has refused to forge an alliance with the AAP for the Lok Sabha polls in the national capital in the sole meeting he had with him.
While talking to reporters at the airport in Delhi, Kejriwal said, “There is nothing on the alliance with Congress. We had one meeting with Rahul Gandhi where he refused to have an alliance with AAP.”

Asked about the Delhi Congress President Sheila Dikshit’s statement in which she said that Arvind Kejriwal never approached her for an alliance, the Delhi CM said, “We have met Rahul Gandhi. Sheila Dikshit is not that important leader.”

A day after he attended a rally next to his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee on the invitation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Kejriwal made the remarks at the Visakhapatnam airport while leaving for Delhi.

According to reports, the Congress’s Delhi unit has been at odds over alliance with the AAP. Chief Sheila Dikshit, and three working presidents of Delhi Congress Rajesh Lilothia, Devender Yadav and Haroon Yusuf are against the proposal of aligning with the AAP.

Delhi has 7 Lok Sabha seats and it will go to polls on May 12.
