-DEDICATED SUB REGISTRARS DEPUTED IN FIVE DISTRICTS

Chandigarh,: Reaffirming Punjab Government’s commitment to provide hassle-free property registration services to the people, a Spokesperson of Revenue Department informed that 20 additional posts of dedicated Sub Registrars have been approved by the State Government on the directives of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. In order to provide respite to the public, senior and experienced Tehsildars have been deputed at five stations with heavy registration workload. “To begin with, Ludhiana (East), Jalandhar (I), Amritsar, Patiala and Kharar (SAS Nagar) get an additional Sub Registrar each,” he said.

He further said that the process of promotion of Naib Tehsildars to Tehsildars is in the pipeline and a requisition has also been sent to the Punjab Public Services Commission (PPSC) for direct recruitment of Tehsildars against the vacant posts. These strengthening and streamlining initiatives would go a long way in easing out the workload despite bringing greater efficiency in the department, he added.

Continuous upgradation of knowledge and skills through a series of capacity building programs of all the officers of Revenue Department, in a phased manner, is already going on which will bring considerable improvement in the Service Delivery mechanism as well as the overall improvement in the functioning of Revenue Department, the spokesperson added.
