The equity benchmark indexes opened Friday’s share market on a red note.

At 10:21 am, the S&P BSE Sensex traded down 154 points or 0.46% at 33536.09, while the wider NSE Nifty50 was at 10074.35, with a low 50.55 points or 0.50%.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 were trading in negative in the morning trade.

Top losers in the Sensex pack were Yes Bank, NTPC, Asian Paints, Vedanta and TCS.

Main laggards on the NSE Nifty50 were Yes Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, JSW Steel, NTPC and Hindalco.

The domestic currency rupee opened 16 paise low at 73.43 against the US dollar today, following weakness in domestic equities and firm capital outflows due to rising geopolitical tensions.

Meanwhile, the domestic stock markets on Thursday’s share market sank to 1%.

The 30-share Sensex dropped 343 points to settle at 33,690 while the 50-scrip index Nifty surged over 99 points to end at 10,124.
