The equity benchmark indices started on a green note on Friday’s trade session. The Nifty50 index of the NSE (National Stock Exchange) opened at 10,892.10.

The S&P Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive index started at 36,304.43.

At 9:51 am, the broader Nifty50 traded at 10901.05, up 42.35 points or 0.39%, while the BSE-30 was at 36331.54, with a gain of 161.13 points or 0.45%.

Out of 50 Nifty stocks, only thirty-seven traded with gains.

The top five gainers gaining between 0.82% and 2.99% on the Nifty pack were Zee Entertainment Enterprises, GAIL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, ITC, and Bajaj Finance.

According to the provisional NSE data, domestic institutional investors purchased and foreign funds bought shares were Rs. 973.31 crore and Rs. 823.47 crore respectively.

The Indian rupee strengthened 21 paise to 69.64, three-month high, per the American dollar on Friday.

On Thursday, the home currency jumped 77 paise to 69.85 against the greenback.

Meanwhile, the domestic stock markets by rising more than 1% on Thursday marked their highest in two months.

The S&P BSE Sensex ended 453.46 points or 1.27 higher at 36,170.41 while the 50-scrip Nifty settled at 10,858.70, up 129.85 points or 1.21%.
