The equity benchmark indices opened Monday’s session on a positive note. The Sensex index of the Bombay Stock Exchange opened at 35,287.49 and the 50-scrip Nifty at 10,607.80.

At 9:34 am, the S&P BSE Sensex traded high at 138.95 points or 0.40% to 35,297.50 and the NSE Nifty50 was at 10,637.70, up 52.50 points or 0.50%.

Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, JSW Steel, Titan and Cipla were the top gainers in the Nifty pack with gaining between 1.73% and 3.18%.

IT stocks in the sectoral landscape led the gains as the IT index of Nifty was up 1.52%.

According to the provisional NSE data, on Friday, the foreign portfolio investors purchased net equities worth Rs. 614.14 crore.

Meanwhile, the domestic stock market on Friday closed on a negative note.

The 30-share Sensex had closed at a loss of 79.13 points or 0.22% to settle at 35,158.55 while the Nifty50 had closed at 10,585.20, down 13.20 points or 0.12%.
