Fuzhou: Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth advanced to the pre-quarterfinals with an easy victory in the China Open World Tour Super 750 tournament.

While HS Prannoy walked out after a straight-game loss in the opening round in the China Open on Wednesday.

On the 9th rank, fifth seed Srikanth dismissed Lucas Corvee of France with 21-12, 21-16 in a 35-minute event.

In the next round, Srikanth will take arms against Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia.

On the other hand, Prannoy lost 11-21, 14-21 to Jonatan Christie of Indonesia, and Asian Games gold medalist in another men’s singles opener.

Meanwhile, in a women’s singles match, young Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka fell to 12-21 16-21 to Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong.

At the break of the opening game, Srikanth presented a good command over is game as he lead the game by 11-7 against Corvee.

Corvee displayed a fighting spirit for a moment and it was nip and tuck to 7-7 until Srikanth took the lead.

After taking the lead, the Indian ace Srikanth knocked out Lucas Corvee.
