The domestic stock market started on a positive note on Wednesday along with mixed global cues.

The wider Nifty50 index of NSE (National Stock Exchange) opened at 10,708.75 and the S&P BSE benchmark Sensex started at 35,635.52.

At 10:47 am, the BSE 30 traded high at 179.45 points or 0.51% to 35692.59 while the 50-barometer Nifty traded at 10721.35, up 35.75 points or 0.33%.

The top five gainers on the Nifty pack were Zee Entertainment, Infosys, Titan, Cipla and Hero MotoCorp.

In global markets, the MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fluctuated between green and red territory and was flat.

South Korean and Australian shares both fell by 0.2%. Japan’s Nikkei up surged 0.7%.

Meanwhile, after a volatile session, the equity benchmark indices closed in the green on Tuesday.

The 30-share Sensex ended at 35,513.14, higher 159.06 points or 0.45% on Tuesday while the NSE Nifty50 settled 57 points or 0.54% high at 10,685.60.
