Now numerous banking services will be provided on messaging platform WhatsApp by Kotak Mahindra Bank and Saraswat Co-operative Bank.

In a statement, Kotak Mahindra Bank said that any queries associated with the bank account, credit and debit cards will be forwarded through Whatsapp.

Correspondingly, Saraswat Co-operative Bank said that in the co-operative sector, it has become the first bank in the country to go live on Whatsapp for Bot and notifications services.

In a statement released, Saraswat Bank was quoted saying, “In this rapidly evolving era, it has become essential to have direct communication with customers. Smart messaging apps assist in reaching out to them on a real-time basis.”

“The bank continues to elevate its digital capabilities to offer customers new and exciting products through digital platforms,” added Saraswat Bank.

In place of receiving text messages with end-to-end encryption, the customers of Saraswat Bank can receive notifications.

Also, the customers can begin a chat, over and above check balance and mini-statements.

The bank told that other functionalities like product details, mobile banking registration, forms/Apps download, requests/inquiries will be released in a phased manner.
