Representatives of the Punjabi Film Producers Association (Reg.) held a meeting with Ambassador Eleonora Dimitrova of Bulgaria and Minister Ilya Dekova. The meeting was convened in collaboration with the Punjab government headed by Charanjit Singh Walia, president of the Punjabi Film Producers Association.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and Minister of Bulgaria invited Punjabi filmmakers to come to Bulgaria to shoot their films.

The filmmakers discussed about their doubts with Bulgaria’s ambassador. They asked the Ambassador about theor concerns regarding policy of the country to make films in Bulgaria, subsidies for producers/production houses, discounts, cash-backs, obtaining visas for Bulgaria and prioritizing film producers/production houses for Visa, availability of crew members, location, films, hotels, transportation, food, etc.; permission about obtaining location, subsidy for shooting short films and songs, no insurance policy for the shooting of films by the Bulgarian government and any special offers for production houses of film makers etc.
The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Parveen Kumar, convener of the organization, who is the producer of Punjabi films.
The Bulgarian Ambassador informed the members that shooting in Bulgaria is about 30% cheaper than in other countries which would be beneficial for Punjabi filmmakers. She also said that though the subsidy policy has been stalled at present due to corona, it is still being worked on. The Ambassador and the Minister invited a delegation of Punjabi filmmakers to visit Bulgaria.
On this occasion, President of the Association Charanjit Singh Walia and other members thanked the Ambassador and the Minister of Bulgaria, offering them Phulkari and souvenirs of Punjab.
Vice President of the institution Harpreet Singh Devgan, Sandeep Bansal Broadcaster / Producer, Tegbir Singh Producer, Jarnail Singh Ghuman Producer, Manish Sahni Producer, Jatinder Sharma, Representative, Satinder Singh Kohli Producer, Sony Nadda Producer were also present.
