The best way to stay warm indoors is a delicious warm drink. A warm beverage will keep you toasty. Spiked up with some seasonal spices and liquor, these cocktails bring bliss and ease in a glass.

Here’s a selection of some cold weather libations –

1. Grand Coffee

With a bit of coffee and Orange-and-cognac liquor can save you from the vile chilliness of winters.

Ingredients:  Hot Brewed Coffee, Brown Sugar Syrup and Grand Mariner (orange-flavored liquor)

How to make Grand Coffee

Pour all the ingredients into a mug or heat-proof highball glass. Then stir them properly.

Serve about 2 tbsp of whipped cream on top.

2. Gingerbread Eggnog

A little spice added in the drink with warm ginger does sound unusual but do wonders in winter.

Ingredients: Eggnog (egg milk punch), Cinnamon, Sugar, Vodka, Kahlúa (coffee-flavored liquor), Ginger, Molasses, Whipped cream.

How to put together Gingerbread Eggnog

Dip wet rims of 4 cocktail glasses in cinnamon sugar.

Add Kahlúa, molasses, eggnog, vodka and ginger in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake to mix them properly.

Before serving, pour into rimmed glasses.

Top with whipped cream and drizzle with molasses.

3. Hot Toddy

A mix of boiling water, whiskey, lemon and sugar can warm you up inside out.

Ingredients: Lemon twist, Fresh lemon juice, Brown sugar, Cloves, Whiskey/Scotch and boiling water.

How to make the Hot Toddy cocktail

Get a mug filled with boiling water and let it warm for 2-3 minutes.

For the moment, stick the cloves into the lemon twist.

Empty the mug and fill about halfway with fresh boiling water.

Stepwise, add the prepared lemon twist, sugar, lemon juice and whiskey.

Stir thoroughly and enjoy your drink.

4. Hot Buttered Rum

Adding butter to your cocktail may seem a little odd of an ordinary, but the richness to Hot Buttered Rum would be missing without a pat of butter.

Ingredients: Boiling water, hot buttered Rum batter, cinnamon stick and Gold Rum.

How to make the Hot Buttered Rum Cocktail

Add buttered batter and rum to a mug.

Fill it with boiling water, stir and serve.

5. Irish coffee

With the help of some Irish whiskey, add spirit to your hot coffee.

Ingredients: Hot water, Light Brown sugar, brewed coffee, Irish whiskey and heavy cream for topping Chocolate shavings.

How to make the Irish coffee

Fill two mugs with boiling water and let it warm for 2 minutes, and then add 1 tsp light brown sugar to it.

Pour over hot coffee and stir to dissolve sugar.

Take a separate bowl, blend whisk cream until soft peaks form (thick but pourable).

Top the coffee with cream by smoothly pouring over the back of a spoon to form a thick cover.

Serve with garnished chocolate shavings.
