CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Kala Parishad would honour eminent Punjabi literatteur Mr. Jaswant Singh Kanwal with ‘Punjab Gaurav Puraskar’ on the eve of his birth centenary. The Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu, Chairman of the Punjab Kala Parishad Dr. Surjit Patar and the Secretary General Dr. Lakhwinder Johal would personally honour the doyen of Punjabi Literature on 26th June at his native village Dhudike in Moga District.

          Dr. Surjit Patar said that it is a moment of extreme pride for the Punjabi literary circles to have got the chance to celebrate 100thbirthday of the shining star of Punjabi literature Mr. Jaswant Singh Kanwal. He further said that the momentous occasion would be observed by every personality connected with Punjabi literature at the residence of Mr. Kanwal at village Dhudike with the great gusto.

          Divulging more, the Secretary General of the Punjab Kala Parishad Dr. Lakhwinder Johal said that the parishad would honour Mr. Kanwal on the occasion with ‘Punjab Gaurav Puraskar’ which would include prize money of Rs. 1 lakh, a shawl and a citation.

          The Media Coordinator of the Punjab Kala Parishad Mr. Ninder Ghugianvi added that on the momentous occasion of honouring Mr. Kanwal at 4 PM on 26th June many big names of the Punjabi literary scene would also be present.
