With an aim to develop Government Schools at par with the Private Schools, the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government on Saturday, launched Mission Shat Pratishat (Mission 100%) for the year 2020-21 to empower schools to achieve 100 per cent results besides inaugurating Smart Schools and distributing tablets to Government Primary Schools of the district.

A district-level event was organised at Bachat Bhawan here during which Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh virtually launched all these projects to mark the concluding day of Punjabi Week. The event was attended by MLA North Surinder Dawar, MLA East Sanjay Talwar, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and Councillor Mamta Ashu.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has virtually inaugurated 107 Smart Schools in the district while 267 tablets were distributed to 38 Government Primary Schools of Ludhiana, which will help students to learn digitally amid the COVID-19.
Deputy Commissioner said that of total 993 Primary Schools in the district 964 schools and 521 of total 533 schools in the upper-primary category have been transformed into Smart Schools in the first phase.
During the virtual event, Principal Karamjit Kaur from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sahnewal town of the district interacted with the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to share that she had joined as a direct recruit in a totally transparent and merit-based process.
On the occasion, Chairman Amarjit Singh Tikka, Senior Congress Leader Ashwani Sharma and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sandeep Kumar among other prominent persons were present.
