Bureau Desk – Its happening for the first time. The moments are registered in the history of scientific explorations. A private Axiom Space flight with 4 crew members on board was launched on April 8 which has successfully docked with International Space Station.
Interestingly , it is a pilot mission when a SpaceX Dragon capsule carried fully private crew started for Space destination and the journey took around 20 hrs before it docked with International Space Station.
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched Ax1 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on Florida’s Space Coast Friday Morning. This will be 10 days stay for the crew before landing back on earth.
None of the crew members is government spaceflyer.Michael Lopez Alegria is leading as commander. He is retired NASA astronaut and at present working as Vice President of business development for Axiom. He is launched alongwith mission pilot Larry Connor and mission specialists Mark Pathy and Eytan Stibbe.
To know more in detail, Pathy is CEO and Chairman of Canadian sustainable investment company named MARVIK. Connor is real estate entrepreneur and a pilot who is well acquainted with 16 different aircrafts. Eytan Stibbe is founding partner of the Vital Capital Impact Investment Fund. Earlier , Stibbe has served in Israel Airforce as a pilot of fighter aircraft. Commander Lopez did not pay for on board as he would be a guiding force for other crew members but all the other three members have paid around 55 million dollars each for this out of the world voyage.
After reaching International Space Station , they joined 7 astronauts who are professionals and they welcomed the new crew on board of ISS. The seven astronauts onboard include three astronauts from NASA, three Russian Cosmonauts and one German Astronaut.
Within 12 minutes of launching Falcon 9 rocket , the Dragon Spacecraft separated from Falcon to start its in space journey to reach International Space Station.
It is to mention here, SpaceX company has transported 22 people into low earth orbit in less than 2 years of period. and this is the sixth human spaceflight launched by SpaceX company that is also with crew on board.
After reaching ISS, Mark Pathy speaking in Virual Live Communication expressed happiness and said it is just a dream come true.
