A 28-year-old journalist, Pradeep Kumar, who had exposed unhygienic conditions at a COVID-19 care centre in Chennai, succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday. Kumar had taken to Twitter to highlight the unhygienic conditions at Gurunanak school COVID-19 care centre in Velachery, where he was being treated along with his mother.

Chennai Corporation had apologised to him and cleaned up the centre.
