Newsdesk – Around 10 thousands employees and workers of railways walked off on strike on the first day in United Kingdom in the last 30 years. A large number of passengers faced chaos as the government and rail workers unions stick to their guns on the issue of pay.

A large number of railworkers which used to be replicated on Tuesday and Saturday, caused major distruption across the network. The strike effected passengers and rail transportation and the major railway station looked deserted on Tuesday. Adding more choas to the passengers, the underground metro was also mostly closed due to a seperate strike.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the strike would harm business and revenue generation as the economy is still facing toughest times after major jerk of Covid which has hit economy badly.

Unions have said the strike could mark start of ‘summer of discontentment’ with teachers, medics , waste disposal workers and barristers heading for industrial action as inflation hits 10 percent.
