Amazon the e-shopping sire which has been under fire since yesterday as they printed Golden Temple picture on doormats and toilet seat covers, was today thanked by senior Delhi Sikh leader, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, even before they could remove the objectionable things.

Sirsa via a video shared on his FB account has announced that the controversial pictures have been removed from the website after the controversy grew.

But it is just half true some pictures have been removed but some still remain on the shopping site.

Sirsa thanked the community for claiming to have solved the issue in the video.

A victory for DSGMC and Sangat – owing to our legal notice, Amazon.com is forced to remove all blasphemous products depicting Darbar Sahib in derogatory manner. I request Everyone to keep me updated if they notice any such products elsewhere or any products depicting holy shrine of any religion 🙏🏻

On the other hand, Amazon removed the picture of the Darbar Sahib from the bathroom mats as the Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh condemned this mistake by Amazon in heavy words.

He said tweeted, “Strongly condemn the use of pictures of Sri Darbar Sahib with toilet seat by Philiphome Universal. It has hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community worldwide. Demand immediate withdrawal of the seat by the company and an apology.”

The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) had sent a legal notice to the company.
