-184 patients admitted in Isolation Centres and 51 patients recovered from COVID-19 so far
-Only 1 patient is on oxygen and 1 patient is on ventilator support
Chandigarh, April 21:
The Punjab Government is providing quality services to the Corona virus patients under which a 500 bedded hospital has been set up at Gian Sagar Medical Institute alone. Today, 8 recovered patients have been discharged from here while total 13 patients from various centres have been sent home extending good wishes for a healthy life.

Disclosing this here today, Health Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that 51 recovered patients have been sent home from government isolation centers so far while 184 corona patients are being provided quality health services in various government centres. This is good news, at present the condition of all the admitted patients in the state is stable. Only 1 patient in the state put under oxygen support and 1 patient, who is critical, on ventilator support.

The Health Minister further said that all the services ranging from ambulance to tests, treatment and nutritious food were being provided free of cost to the corona affected patients. Counseling was also being imparted to maintain the confidence of the patients.

Talking about the Isolation Center established at Gyan Sagar Institute Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that this 500 bedded hospital admits only corona positive patients from Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib and Ropar districts. At present 43 patients has been admitted in this institute.
Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that services of Medicine, Anesthesia, Radiology, Microbiology and ENT specialists were being provided in all Isolation Centers across the State. Ventilators and special staff are also available for any emergency in this institute. He said that the patients were being provided balanced diet under the supervision of specialist doctors and all facilities were being provided free of cost. It may also be mentioned here that as per the guidelines of Covid-19, samples of patients were being sent to PGI Chandigarh, Faridkot, Patiala and Amritsar Medical Colleges.
Of the 7355 persons tested, 6769 were found to be negative and 251 were confirmed so far, while 335 cases have yet to be reported and unfortunately 16 patients died in the State till date.
