Chandigarh, May 14: In a bid to appreciate the services rendered by Punjab Home Guards (PHG) and civil defence warriors in fight against Covid-19 pandemic, the PHG and Civil Defence (CD) department has awarded 31 PHGs, 23 volunteers and 25 CD personnel with newly instituted DG Home Guards Commendation Discs and Director Civil Defence Commendation Rolls.
Disclosing this here today, spokesperson of PHG and CD Department said 31 PHGs including 3 district commanders namely Sohan Singh, Kamalpreet Singh Dhillon, Raj Singh Dhaliwal and 5 Non-Gazetted officers including Company Commanders Sukhbir Singh and Prakash Singh, Platoon Commanders Gursewak Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Nirmal Singh have been awarded with DG Home Guards Commendation Disc for playing exemplary role in fight against Covid19.
Similarly, 23 volunteers namely Ajit Singh, Krishan Kumar, Charanjit Singh, Surjit Singh, Nachattar Singh, Khushpreet Singh, Pradeep Kumar Gautam, Sham Sunder, Jaswant Singh, Karnail Singh, Ranjit Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Resham Lal, Ranjit Singh, John Masih, Rachh Pal Singh, Majinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Jarnail Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Ashwani Kumar and Surinder Kumar have also been awarded wit DG Home Guards Commendation Disc for performing remarkable services.
In addition, 25 CD personnel including Kuldeep Singh, Parmjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Raj Kumar Kashyap, Mohinder Pal Saini, Bhupinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Paramjit Kapoor, Budh Singh Thakur, Sudhir Sood, Darshan Singh Rahal, Sudarshan Kumar Khanna, Surjit Singh, Pritpal Singh Noughty, Manjit Singh, Harjinder Singh, Abhishek Josh, Parmodh Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Jasminderjit Singh, Inderjeet Khurana and Rajesh Bhanot have been awarded with Director, Civil Defence Commendation Roll for performing exemplary services in the battle against Covid 19 pandemic in the State.
