Chandigarh, November 28:
Lashing out at Modi-led BJP government for mistreating Annadata (farmers) of the country, Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Saturday, said that it seems that the BJP government has distorted the definition of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ to “Jah Jawan, Maar Kisan”.

Mr. Singla joined the struggle of the farmers against the black laws passed by the Modi government at Haryana-Delhi border and apart from serving langar (free meal) to the protesting farmers; he also donated grocery items as gesture of his participation in this historic struggle. Enquiring about their condition during the cold weather, he also assured agitating farmers that not only he and his party, but the entire Punjab stood by them in every situation and strategic efforts would be made by every section of the society for the reversion of these black laws.

Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that the farmers have been protesting against the black laws in Punjab for the last several months and now, when they are marching towards Delhi for their demands, the Modi government, instead of taking stock of their demands, sealed the National Highway in connivance with BJP’s Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar by throwing laws at bays.
“The issue is not only about sealing the border with Punjab but also the country’s Annadata was attacked with water cannons and tear gas shells in the winter and also cane charged”, said the minister, adding that the BJP government was treating the saviours of backbone of the country’s economy as terrorists for which Modi and his party would have to pay the price in future.
The Cabinet Minister categorically said, the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, his entire cabinet and party was standing firmly against these black laws, which are major threat over the agriculture sector and these black laws will not be allowed to be enforced in Punjab at any cost.
He added, “It is ridiculous that while the BJP leaders are blaming Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh for inciting the farmers to agitate, on the other side, leaders of the opposition parties in Punjab are calling him anti-farmer.” Mr. Singla said that opposition parties’ leaders were only making statements for their personal political interests, while every leader of the Congress party has been standing by the farmers.
