The symbolic hunger strike and protest organized by The National Scheduled Castes Alliance and its fraternal organizations against the alleged multi-crore scam of Post Matric Scam in the state under the nose of congress government headed by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh here at the Rally Ground in Sector 25 entered the 20th day on Saturday. High powered committee of the Group of Ministers (GoM), constituted in the State yesterday directed all the institutions to release degrees to such students under the Post Matric Scholarship within three days and decide on the pending issues regarding the year 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 arising out of the closure of the scheme.

Paramjit Singh Kainth, President of the National Scheduled Castes Alliance said, “We welcome the step forward in the right direction taken by the Punjab government and its better late than never that this government finally decided to try that relief is provided to these almost a million students of our community as well as OBC and other marginalized communities. The initiative that the Punjab government has started, Captain Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister needs to make sure that the issue is brought to its fruition.”

“The unresponsive behavior of the State government has resulted in creating a panic amongst the SC students about their future prospects in education and employment. The multi crore scam that Punjab Government led by Captain Amarinder Singh has been trying to hide has resulted in endangering a whole future generation of our community and our protest Dharna at Sector 25, Rally Ground has been going on to make sure that the tyranny of the government ends.” Said Kainth.
