Chandigarh, April 28, 2021: Keeping in view the increasing number of corona cases, the UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore on Wednesday decided to impose a corona curfew from 06:00 PM to 05:00 AM every day in the city.
As per the new orders of the administration, all shops, malls, multiplexes etc. will close by 05:00 PM every day with home delivery allowed up to 09:00 PM. All non-essential activities will be banned during the night curfew. This will come into effect on 29th April, 2021 and will be in force till further orders.

All Educational Institutions, School, Colleges, Coaching Institutions, Libraries etc. will remain closed till 15/05/2021, stated the new orders.
On weekend curfew, UT Adviser Manoj Parida said, “No decision has been taken on weekend closure in Chandigarh.”
The decisions were taken in the War Room Meeting where UT Adviser Manoj Parida was also present.
Currently, the city is under night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am.
