Pfizer has said that it told the Indian government there was no concern over the safety of its COVID-19 vaccine. “Pfizer’s application for emergency use authorisation was supported with data that shows an overall efficacy rate of 95%,” a spokesperson said.

The company, which withdrew its application in February, is holding fresh talks with India for an “expedited approval pathway”.
