Delhi government-run Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research issued a circular directing the nurses to communicate only in Hindi or English and disallowed the use of Malayalam language.

The circular which warned of “serious action” was later withdrawn after criticism. The hospital administration said that it was issued without their information.
