The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to bear the treatment cost of ₹1.5 crore for a government doctor hospitalised with COVID-19.

Dr N Bhaskar Rao, 38, is advised to undergo lung transplant, but cannot afford the treatment cost. Both he and his wife had tested positive for COVID-19, but Dr Bhaskar was shifted to another hospital after his condition deteriorated.
