Centre on Monday extended the tenure of KK Venugopal as the Attorney General for India by one more year till June 30, 2022.

He was appointed as Attorney General in 2017 for a three-year term. Venugopal has earlier served as an Additional Solicitor General (ASG) to the former PM Morarji Desai-led government in the late 1970s.
