Chandigarh – The Punjab CM writes letter to the SSPs and Police Commissioners about the law and order situation in Punjab.

Referring to the meeting held on April 5 at Punjab Bhawan , the chief minister said in the letter that it was discussed that the topmost priority of the state government is to maintain law and order siruation , apart from eradication of  corruption and welfare measures for the police force. He said he had announced for constituting Anti Gangster Task Force.

In the letter , Mann said that the constitution of AGTF would not lessen the duties and responsibilities of Police Commissioners and SSPs to control such criminal acts and further maintain law and order situation.

The Chief Minister Mann applauding the Punjab Police said that the force has gallant and professionalisn and the service to the nation. He said he is confident that the topmost officers would lead the operations against gangsters and set best of the examples by eradicating gangsterism from the state.

It is mentionable here that the two murderous incidents of shooting Kabadi players in broad daylight have raised questions on the law and order situation of the state. Moreover, the opposition leaders have also ‘gheraoed’ the newly formed state government that has not yet completed a month’s time.

On the other side, the previous government of Congress Party had made claims that it had effectively controlled the gansters in the state either by eradicating or putting them behind the bars.

At present , Congress MLAs  Sukhpal Khaira , Navjot Sidhu , Partap Singh Bajwa have been raising voice and posting on their social media accounts pointing out the law and order situation.
