Chandigarh: The BJP demands immediate response from the Chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Mann to compensate farmers for less yield of wheat due to the inclement weather in March. Said Mr Bikramjit Singh Cheema leader of BJP.
Addressing an press conference at the party headquarters here today the Incharge of Kisan Morcha Mr Bikramjit Singh Cheema said that due to unusual soaring temperature in March the wheat crop yield per acre came down to atleas 8-10 quintals down.
It is a huge economic hit to the farmers in the state. Per acre it translates to ten to twelve thousand loss. “ Already the agriculture sector is reeling under huge debt and farmers cannot afford to sustain this loss.” Said Cheema.
We appeal to the Chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Singh Mann to immediately come to the rescue of the farmers and announce an relief package . Said Mr Cheema.
