Chandigarh – Infighting in Punjab Congress unit is assumed to be taking a different turn in coming days. Amarinder Raja Warring is officially taking charge as President Punjab Congress tomorrow.
Earlier, there used to be a large gathering of workers and leaders when the new party president had assumed office in past times. Likely , it would be for the first time that no crowd and pomp and show would be witnessed on the occasion. Newly appointed PPCC president Raja Warring would take charge in a low profile manner.
On the other side , It is a buzz that former PPCC president Navjot Sidhu might float a new political outfit in coming days. Sources say, he is working on these lines but might be waiting for the suitable time. It is quite noticeable that Sidhu visited Behbal Kalan protest site and met victim families once again. One can see him moving around quite actively and also coming up with postings on his Twitter account@sherryontopp.
After the announcement as his appointment as PPCC chief, Warring convened his first meeting with congress leaders at Amritsar. Former president Navjot Sidhu skipped the meeting and preferred to meet his predecessor Sunil Jakhar at his Panchkula residence and also expelled congress leader Amrik Singh.

Navjot Sidhu is continously meeting former MLAs and some leaders. He met former MLA Nirmal Singh Shatrana, Kulbir Zira, former Mandi Board chairman Lal Singh and number of senior leaders and former MLAs of congress.
Sidhu also joined in a press conference at Bathinda along with former MLAs Harwinder Laddi , Navtej Cheema , Rajinder Singh , Hardial Kamboj, Sunil Datti , Surjit Dhiman , Najar Singh Mansahia , Karanvir Dhillon, Sher Ghubaia , Pirmal Singh , Jagdev Singh Kamaloo, Raj Balwinder , Vijay Kalra , Ashu Bangar , Satnam Satrana.
Today, Sidhu along with half a dozen former MLAs including Ashwani Sekhri submitted a memorandum to Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit in which the issues of present situation of law and order, farmers and electricity was taken into focus. It could be taken as show of strength with a faction of congress leaders on Sidhu’s side.
So, once again, it seems ‘All is not well in Punjab Congress’. Tomorrow, it would be interesting to notice if former president PPCC Navjot Sidhu would come to ‘handover’ ‘baton’ to his successor Amarinder Raja Warring or not. It might be recalled that Rahul Gandhi had come here when Navjot Sidhu was to assume office in Punjab Bhawan Chandigarh and his predecessor Sunil Jakhar was present on the stage.
It is observed that Navjot Sidhu has been quite active in these days and also holding meetings with various leaders and workers of the party. But, the question arises, whether Sidhu taking a step forward by stepping out or he will chose to move parallel within the partyfold. Anyhow, it is quite clear, faction and friction is still not over.
