Chandigarh – Punjabi Pop Singer Daler Mehndi arrested and jailed for two years after Patiala court upheld 2 year sentence in Human Trafficking case registered against him in 2003.
The Patiala court sentenced Daler Mehndi 2 years in prison turning down plea his plea in 19 year old human trafficking case. A Total of 31 cases were registered against Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Mehndi. Both the brothers were accused of sending people abroad taking big amounts and showing them as members of their troupe.
This latest proceeding is the review petition in this case. Earlier, the same court had pronounced the 2 year imprisionment but was let out on bail.
Today, Additional Sessions Judge HS Grewal dismissed the bail plea. Mehndi was taken into custody after the order was pronounced. Daler Mehndi is sent to Patiala Jail.
