Newsdesk – All India Express Flight is diverted to Muscat after the crew detected burning smell in the cabin. The flight from Calicut was scheduled to land in Dubai but it had to take a halt after the burning smell in the gallery.
A defected oven is found to be spreading the burning odour in the first sight but taking precautions and averting any untoward incident, the crew got alert. The oven in Air India Express flight IX355 was disconnected in Oman and the flight on board 127 passengers and two infants has landed in Dubai after approximately 6 hours delay.
The pilots decided to do emergency landing in Muscat and engineers team carried out repeated checks and cross checks to identify the fault. Ultimately, the team detected an oven in the forward gallery with some defect which was spreading burning smell in the cabin. The exact cause of the fault in oven is yet to be found and the oven will be placed back in plane after repair when the plane will return back to India.
