Chandigarh – Ranbir Kapoor makes a comeback with film ‘Shamshera after four years gap starred with Sanjay Dutt and Vani Kapoor. The music of the film is composed by Mithun, the young musician. But, the film could not hit the silverscreen as it was expected.
The Films ‘Taal’ and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame singer Sukhwinder Singh who has given hit songs ‘Ramta Jogi’ and ‘Jai Ho’ has sung three songs in ‘Shamshera.
There was much buzz on social media and enough publicity was done. The starcast Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, both themselves, visited the city beautiful Chandigarh one day before its release this week’ friday. The buzz was created but the film failed to make its presence and pull the audience and viewers.
The film is produced under Yashraj films, a famous and big banner of bollywood by Aditya Chopra and directed by Karan Malhotra. In the film , Ranbir Kapoor appeared in dual role with Sanjay Dutt as an antagonist and Vani Kapoor alongside Ashutosh Rana , Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla. The film is most expensive hindi film with expenditure of Rs. 150 crore.
The film was released on July 22 with mixed reviews about the film from the film critics. The box office collection on opening day, friday, was just Rs. 10.25 crore which is considered as sluggish start. The second day collection is Rs. 10.50 crore on Saturday whereas the audience has gone flat on Sunday, a holiday when audience is expected to go full house.

The film critic Taran Adarsh reviews ‘Shamshera’ with one word “Unbearable” and posted it on his twitter account.

Ranbir Kapoor will be hoping to get successful with his next film ‘Brahmastra’ which is set to release on September 9.
