Chandigarh : Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Wednesday, met Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema for early and permanent solution of issues related to the payment of arrears of free bus travel facility to women.
During a meeting with Harpal Singh Cheema, the Transport Minister informed that due to the non-release of funds for this scheme of women welfare on time, the department is facing difficulties in paying salaries and other liabilities. He said that with an early and permanent solution of this problem, transactions of the department can be ensured on time.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema assured that the funds for this scheme will be released soon. The Cabinet Ministers directed Principal Secretary Finance Ajoy Kumar Sinha, Secretary Transport Vikas Garg and Secretary Social Security Sumer Singh Gurjar, MD PRTC Punamdeep Kaur and other senior officials to resolve this issue at the earliest.
