Strap : Bhagwant Mann must ask him to tender unconditional apology
Chandigarh : Senior Congress Leader & Punjab’s Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator for his brash & erratic behaviour posing a serious threat to the ongoing procurement process of the paddy crop.
Bajwa while referring to the section of the media reports said the way Amloh AAP MLA Gurinder Singh Garry Barring publicly humiliated Pungrain Inspector Gurmeet Singh in Khumano’s Raipur Majri grain market was not only shameful but was also completely uncalled for.
“ This MLA humiliated the Inspector when the procurement process of the paddy crop was in full swing. Now the Inspector and the members of his association have threatened to halt the procurement process to protest against the Amloh MLA”, said Bajwa.
Bajwa also said that according to the Inspector the Amloh MLA also threatened to get him transferred to Pathankot and the legislator claimed to have already spoken to the minister concerned.
“ I am appalled by this sort of behaviour of the MLA. He doesn’t even understand that if the procurement of the paddy crop comes to a standstill it is the farmers who will suffer the most. Unfortunately senior party leaders including chief minister Bhagwant Mann have failed to discipline these legislators as they keep getting into one or the other controversy everyday”, said Bajwa..
Bajwa said another AAP MLA from Bassi Pathana, Rupinder Singh Happy was an eyewitness to the entire incident and media reports suggested that he even disapproved of Amloh MLA’s rash behaviour.
The Pungrain association has already announced to submit a memorandum in this regard to the deputy commissioner of the Fategarh Sahib before deciding to halt the procurement process all across Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann should immediately take strict disciplinary action against the brash MLA and ask him to tender an unconditional apology so that the process of the paddy procurement was not stalled.
