Amritsar: In another path breaking initiative, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday embarked series of landmark steps for complete overhaul of school education in the state at a cost of Rs 1600 crore.
Addressing the gathering during Sikhiya Kranti Rally here today, the Chief Minister said that Rs 358 crore will be spent for construction of wall boundary in over 7000 schools. Likewise, he said Rs 25 crore are being spent on benches and furniture, Rs 60 crore for washrooms and Rs 800 crore are being spent on 10,000 new classroom work for which is underway. Likewise, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Campus manager is being provided in each school along with two security guards in every government secondary schools.
The Chief Minister said that Transport service has been started in the state for facilitating the students especially the girls. He said that Punjab will be the first state of the country to have WIFI connection in each school. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that within six months all schools in the state will be equipped with internet facilities.
The Chief Minister said that very soon Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses will be introduced in government schools across the state. He said that one lakh students will be imparted training in Artificial intelligence. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that training will also be given to 10, 000 teachers for AI courses adding that earlier Punjab was now for green revolution and White revolution but now it will be known for Education Revolution.
The Chief Minister said the state government is following the footsteps of Great Sikh Gurus by ushering a revolution in education and knowledge sector adding that this is a historic day when Education revolution has started from the sacred land of Guru Sahib. He said that this revolution should have started 70 years ago but unfortunately it never happened. However Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government has dedicated school of eminence to the state for transforming the destiny of students especially from weaker and underprivileged sections of society.
The Chief Minister said that the foundation stone of this revolution was laid by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during crusade against corruption from Ram Leela Ground Delhi. He said that as a result of this today this dream has turned into reality and schools are being transformed into hub of quality education. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this in another historic initiative Transport facility has been initiated for students to facility them.
The Chief Minister said ultra modren state of the art infrastructure has been created in the schools of the state. He said that to upscale the expertise of the teachers, they are being abroad and within the country for professional training. Likewise, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that students are also being sent to places like ISRO and others for enhancing their knowledge.
The Chief Minister quipped that during previous regimes Smart schools were merely of name due to lack of facilities. However, he said that his government has converted the government schools into smart ones in real sense. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this trend will continue in the coming days too will complete transformation of education sector.
Lauding the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister described him as Man of words. He said that Arvind Kejriwal had fulfilled every guarantee given to people by him. Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated his commitment to serve the people of state with same missionary zeal and commitment.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has hitherto provided more than 36,097 jobs to the youth in various departments of the Punjab government. He said that it is a record as none of the previous governments have given so many jobs to youth especially in the initial months of its tenure. Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated that merit and transparency have been the twin pillars based on which jobs have been given to the youth across the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has set up School of Emminence on the land where drugs were openly distributed in the past. He said that this first hi-tech school will transform the destiny of students of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this state of the art school will act as a catalyst in providing quality education to the students.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has adopted zero tolerance policy against corruption. He said that anyone who has plundered the money of public will not be spared and will be made accountable for his sins. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that severest of severe action is being taken against the corrupt politicians who have looted the state.
Taking a jibe on his political opponents, the Chief Minister said that these leaders don’t even have knowledge of Punjabi but they are giving sermons to us. He said that people of the state have given the responsibility to safeguard the exchequer to them with a whopping mandate. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now they are plugging the pilferages in state exchequer to ensure well being of people.
The Chief Minister said that the sea of humanity that has converged here at this rally speaks volumes of the love of people for this government. He said that the state government has taken path breaking initiatives for the well being of the general public adding that more such steps will be taken in coming days. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed for the development of the state and prosperity of its people.
In his address, Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains lauded the Chief Minister ushering a new era in politics. He said that the state government has transformed the education system within one and half years of the governance of the government. Harjot Bains said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned for welfare the students and teachers.
