Atlanta, August 3, 2026: The 2026 International Sikh Youth Symposium concluded in Atlanta after bringing together young participants who had qualified through regional competitions held across the United States and Canada.
Organized by the Sikh Youth Alliance of North America, the international programme ran from July 30 to August 2. Participants were divided into different age groups, broadly covering children and young adults between six and 22 years of age.
The symposium uses prepared speeches, discussions and age-appropriate study material to encourage participants to explore Sikh history, Gurbani, philosophy and community values. It also provides young Sikhs with opportunities to improve their research, communication and public-speaking abilities.
Regional competitions are organized before the international round, allowing participants from different parts of North America to engage with Sikh literature and connect with other young members of the community. Organizers describe education and identity-building—not competition alone—as central objectives of the initiative.
