Canada enforced the removal of 3,323 Indian nationals between January and June 2026, according to country-level data attributed to the Canada Border Services Agency. Indians represented the largest nationality group among people removed during this period.
The six-month figure is already approximately 88 per cent of the 3,779 Indian nationals removed during the whole of 2025. Reported annual figures show a continuing increase from 603 in 2021 to 786 in 2022, 1,132 in 2023 and 2,004 in 2024.
An immigration removal can occur after a person becomes subject to an enforceable removal order. Possible grounds may include an unsuccessful refugee claim, failure to comply with immigration conditions or a finding of inadmissibility. A removal does not, by itself, establish that the individual committed a criminal offence.
The publicly reported country-level figures do not provide a complete breakdown of the grounds in all 3,323 cases. The data therefore demonstrates increased enforcement involving Indian nationals but should not be used to make assumptions about individual cases.
