The Indian government has authorized 11 additional international entry points to receive foreign nationals travelling with valid Indian e-Visas.
According to the government announcement, the expansion raises the total number of approved e-Visa entry points in India to 88. The measure is intended to provide international travellers with more options when entering the country.
The change may benefit foreign citizens of Indian origin and overseas relatives who require an e-Visa for travel to India. Travellers must still ensure that their particular e-Visa category, passport and chosen entry point meet India’s immigration requirements.
The announcement does not change travel rules for Indian passport holders. OCI cardholders generally enter India using a valid foreign passport together with their OCI status and ordinarily do not require an Indian e-Visa.
Passengers should verify that their intended airport, seaport or land port appears on the authorized list before finalizing travel plans.
