
Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 400 in Vaughan early Sunday morning.
Emergency crews responded shortly after 1:45 a.m. to the southbound on-ramp at Major Mackenzie Drive. First responders rescued two occupants from the vehicles and transported them to hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities temporarily closed the southbound highway between Teston Road and Rutherford Road while emergency personnel assisted the injured, cleared the scene and conducted an initial investigation. The affected lanes reopened shortly before 4:30 a.m.
Officials did not immediately disclose the identities or ages of the injured people. No information was released about possible charges or the circumstances that caused the collision.
Motorists or witnesses possessing dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash should preserve it in case investigators request additional evidence.
