It will soon cost you more to sit around in sweatpants binge-watching Netflix subscription fees are going up by the most they ever have.
Netflix Canada might increase a buck or three more every month.
When Netflix first started in Canada eight years ago, it cost just $7.99. What a bargain it seems like!
Ever since then, there have been several increases in price as more binge watchers signed up for the service.
The basic fee has gone up and pricier tears have been carved out so that you pay more for sharing an account with more people and for HD images.
The basic plan will go up by $1 to $8.99 or $120 a year.
The premium plan, the priciest one will go up by $3 to $16.99, so that is $204 a year.
And that $3 hike represents the biggest single hike ever in Canada to any subscription.
And that applies to not just premium plan but the standard which allows you to share with one another person.
Netflix says it’s all because TV is expensive to make and especially its original series Ozark, Orange is the New Black and many more.
As you know Netflix keep its subscription very secret but estimated analysts within the industry figured that it has about 6.7 million subscribers in Canada.
