Afghanistan’s acting PM, Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, on Wednesday called on former officials of past governments to return home and assured them that they’d be protected.

“We are faced with the huge task of rebuilding…of war-ravaged Afghanistan,” said Akhund. While stressing that the bloodbath is over, Akhund said, “We paid a heavy price for seeing this historic moment in Afghanistan.”
