Amritsar, July 31, 2026: Air India has started two daily “Easy Connect” services from Amritsar, offering passengers onward connections through Delhi to 27 international destinations.
Under the new arrangement, travellers beginning their international journey in Amritsar can complete check-in and immigration formalities at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport. Their checked baggage can be tagged through to the final destination, removing the need to collect and check it again while transferring at Delhi airport.
Air India has designated flight AI1113, departing Amritsar at 9:10 a.m., and flight AI1115, departing at 10 p.m., for the service. The connecting network includes Toronto, Vancouver, New York, Newark, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Birmingham, Paris, Rome, Melbourne and Sydney, along with destinations in West and Southeast Asia.
The programme is particularly relevant to Punjab’s large overseas community because it may simplify journeys to Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. However, it is a connecting service through Delhi—not the launch of new nonstop international flights from Amritsar.
Indian passport holders using these flights for international connections must enrol in DigiYatra. Air India also states that web check-in and customs declaration facilities are unavailable at the originating spoke airport under the programme.
The current arrangement applies to passengers travelling from Amritsar abroad. A similar system for passengers arriving from overseas and continuing from Delhi to Amritsar is expected within two months but is not yet operational.
