Newsdesk – Al Jazeera Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh reportedly gunned down during Israeli army raids operation in the West Bank, the area in Israeli forces possession. The Palestinian health ministry has issued official statement of the incident and investigation is going on to acertain the exact reason.

Abu Akleh was covering army raids in the city of Jenin in northern occupied West Bank. She was immediately rushed to the hospital in a critical condition after the bullet hit her but she was declared dead in a short time. The Israeli ministry said in an oficial statement.

Al Jazeera Bureau Chief Waleed Al Omari could not stop weeping On Air while giving the shocking news.

In an information , Abu was ‘Press’ vest and was standing at the side where other journalists were standing when she was shot dead. Ali Al Samoudi was another journalist of Al Jazeera who is wounded by a bullet at the back. But his condition is stable at the moment, the reports say.

Ali Al Samoudi in a news report told  that the first bullet hit me and second bullet hit Shireen whereas there was no Palestinian resistance at all at the scene. The journalists present at the scene reported that they were four journalists at the spot and all of them were wearing ‘Press’ vests and helmets. The firing was not stopped even after the reporter collapsed.

The Israeli forces said that the army was carrying out an operation in the area to arrest suspects in terrorists activities. Both the suspects were fired and identified, in the process there is possibilities that journalists were hit, the army said. In the meantime , Israel said that Palestinian terrorists killed her.

Meanwhile, an outrage has erupted due to killing of a journalist on duty. The Arab countries at the United Nations have given a call for independent and international probe of the incident to which they are terming as assassination of Al Jazeera reporter.
