At least 164 people have died in Kerala, where monsoon fury has produced the state’s worst floods in over nine decades. God’s Own Country needs help, and some of Bollywood’s top names are asking their fellow countrymen to pitch in.
“Please help,” said Amitabh Bachchan in a tweet, describing the situation in Kerala as “very scary”. His son Abhishek, too, asked his Twitter followers to “help in whatever way you can”.
John Abraham urged his followers to donate to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. “Extremely disturbed by what is happening in Kerala. My fondest childhood memories have been there,” he wrote.
