Three days after the horrific incident of Amritsar train tragedy which killed 61 people and injured over 50, the organiser of the Dussehra event released a video. Saurabh Madan Mithoo, the organised of the ‘Raavan Dahan’ event released a video saying that he is deeply pained by the terrible accident in Amritsar.
He also said that he had taken all permission for organising the event. He also said that he alerted crowd many times to not stand on the tracks while watching the event. He even said that some people are trying to defame him over the issue.
The tragic incident took place on Friday evening when a crowd of Dussehra revelers had spilled onto railway tracks near Joda Phatak when watching the burning of a Ravana effigy and some of them were run over by a train. At least 300 people were watching the ‘Ravana dahan’ at a ground adjacent to the tracks. At least 61 people have been declared dead by the tragedy, while over 50 are still being treated in hospitals. An investigation into the matter has been called by Punjab Chief Minister Amrinder Singh
