Sanjay Kumar Ramdas Devarkonda, an Australian paraglider died last evening after a crash-landing in the Joginder Nagar area of Mandi district.

The police were informed around 6 pm yesterday that a paraglider had collapsed in the area.

A search team was sent by the police and Sanjay’s body was found around the Duggli hills after 6 hours of search.

The Australian paraglider, Sanjay had already died.

For an autopsy, the body of Sanjay was taken to Tanda Medical College.

Sanjay was a resident of New South Wales, Australia. Also, he was an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) Card Holder.

Over the last week, this is the second death incident of a paraglider in Himachal Pradesh.

On October 23, Kok Chang, a free-flyer from Singapore had died in an accident. He also came here to participate in the world event.

India Open Paragliding World Cup from 27th October to 3rd November is scheduled to be hosted in the Bir-Billing area.
