-10 days Patiala National Dance & Theatre Festival Fourth day

Patiala: North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Punjab Sangeet Natak Academy in Collaboration with Kala Kriti, Patiala & Natraj Arts Theatre organizing 10 days Patiala National Dance and Theatre Festival Fourth day Rang Mastaaney Group Jaipur staged a Hindi play “BABY” at Kalidasa Auditorium Virsa Vihar Kender NZCC. The Marathi Play directed by Chitrath Mishra and Written by Vijay Tendulkar (Hindi Adaptation by Vasant Dev).

“Baby” Play, is is about a young woman named ‘Baby’. And the title represents the protagonist of the play.

Dew some hardships in life and couldn’t survive alone in this awful world she asks for a help to a man named ‘Shivappa’. The day he realizes that baby doesn’t have anyone in her life to protect her or to help her, he takes advantage of it and starts exploiting baby, he treats her like an animal, a commodity, a slave.. This brings a very crucial climax where baby fights for her rights and fights for her own identity but somehow things turn out to be ugly in the end and this play ends up abruptly. Basically this play shows the struggle of a woman in this world and how it is so difficult for a woman to survive alone, and if she asks for help then how things turns out to really ugly by the end. And it actually shows the reality of the society where we are living but couldn’t see the deepest darkest ugliest truths of it and this play brings out that naturally.

On this occasion Sudesh Sharma noted theatre personality and director theatre for theatre Chandigarh, Shyam Lal Navyug , Sanjeev Jindal Manager HDFC,  Dr. Simran, Manjeet Singh Narang IAS (Retd.), Avtar Singh Arora, Parminder Pal Kaur & Gopal Sharma Festival Director, Raj Kumar, Nirmal Singh, Amarjit Singh Walia and Parkash Tiwari were present.
